In Red Mountain Pass, Lyle Morrison and Casey Bailey try to catch up to Paul Brader by climbing out of this basin toward the shack at Imogene Pass.
In the summer, this basin is a mix of tundra, wildflowers, talus and scree piles and expansive views. The jeep road that connects Ouray to Telluride is open as weather permits; often for just a couple of months a year. In Red Mountain Pass, Paul Brader is forced to try to access the top of Imogene Pass in a snowmobile, unaware that he is being pursued by Casey Bailey and Lyle Morrison.
